Transforming Hollywood Park Casino's AV System with Advanced AVoIP Technology
Introduction to the Project
Production Access Group is thrilled to embark on Phase 1 of the AV Distribution Upgrade at Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, CA. This transformative project aims to replace the existing Aurora system and video wall processing with a cutting-edge AVoIP system and DSP, significantly enhancing the casino's audio-visual capabilities.
Comprehensive System Design and Installation
Our journey begins with a meticulous system design, detailing a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure that every piece of equipment fits seamlessly into the new setup. Our team will handle the sale and installation of the new design equipment, working diligently during normal business hours to minimize disruption.
Removing and Replacing Existing Equipment
The next phase involves the careful removal of the existing Aurora and ICS systems. We coordinate closely with the casino to schedule downtime, ensuring a smooth transition from the old system to the new one. All removed equipment remains with the owner, maintaining transparency and trust.
Upgrading the Network Infrastructure
A significant component of the upgrade is the replacement of the current AV network switches with the advanced AVPro Edge MX Net Series. This step utilizes existing cabling and infrastructure wherever possible, optimizing efficiency and reducing unnecessary waste. We will also run 24 new lines to support 4x4 video walls, enhancing the visual experience across the casino.
Enhancing AVoIP Capabilities
The AVoIP replacement involves updating encoders and decoders in critical areas such as the IDF, bar, and restaurant. We are adding spare units to ensure reliability and longevity. Additionally, the ICS processor will be replaced with individual decoder units for the 4x4 video walls, allowing for precise windowing processing at the endpoint level. Custom video wall presets will be programmed to meet the client’s specifications.
Integrating Q-Sys Audio and Control System
Upgrading the audio system includes programming the Q-Sys control and audio system, featuring a 17-inch rack-mount touch screen, system controller DSP, and a 128x128 Dante system. This integration will streamline audio control, offering enhanced flexibility and performance.
Installing New Audio Distribution System
We are also installing a new audio distribution system using Bluesound commercial music players, capable of handling up to four source channels. This upgrade will provide a richer and more immersive audio experience throughout the casino.
Replacing the Sharp Panel
A highlight of the project is the replacement of a broken Sharp panel in the restaurant. We are not only installing a new unit but also providing a spare for future needs, ensuring the casino is well-prepared for any contingencies.
